The prayer Jesus taught us – “Thy Kingdom come . . .” – is so much more than just hopeful words for an eternal future in heaven. For too long we have used the Lord’s Prayer as a ritual, a form without power and words without impact! Yet Jesus said. “the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it.” (Matt 11:12)
We see very little “forcefulness” in the Christianity of this nation. Where are the “forceful men” who are willing to declare the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ with power and authority? What would it look like if we had the courage and boldness to passionately, radically live our lives like we actually believe the “hope we profess”?
If you will believe that His Kingdom is within you (Luke 17:21), then you will also believe Him when he said, “I give you authority . . . to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” (Luke 10:19)
· Who has this authority?
· Who is this enemy?
· Will we be held accountable for how we have used the authority He died to give us?
· How do we use spiritual authority in this real world?
You are embarking on an adventure that will challenge and provoke you to enter His Kingdom and to use His authority to stand against the enemy. If ever there were a people who needed the truth and full reality of His Kingdom, it would be we who are called by His name in this nation, in this culture, and in this community. And even more specifically, it is we who are the men to whom He has given His sacred trust to guard and protect our families, our homes, and our communities.
Come. Discover who our Father in Heaven has designed you to be as forceful men forcefully advancing His Kingdom.
